Universes is a term referring to the vast list of Warner Bros. Discovery-owned franchises represented in MultiVersus.

Summary

Universes can be represented via Fighters, Taunts, Variants, Maps, NPCs, Items, Profile Icons, Badges, Banners, Announcer Packs, Ringouts, Stickers, and Perks. Some content can either be bought from the in-game store or retrieved through the Battle Pass.

MultiVersus: The "default" universe. Includes all original content made by Player First Games for the game
Adventure Time: An animated comedy/fantasy show made by Pendleton Ward at Frederator Studios for Cartoon Network. The show focuses on Finn the Human and the adventures he has alongside his best friend and adoptive brother Jake the Dog in the Land of Ooo.
Animaniacs: A variety show with short skits featuring a large cast of characters. While the show had no set format, the majority of episodes were composed of three short mini-episodes, each starring a different set of characters, and bridging segments. Hallmarks of the series included its music, satirical social commentary, pop culture references, character catchphrases, and innuendo directed at an adult audience. A revival of the series was announced in January 2018 and ran for a total of 3 seasons from February 20th, 2020, all the way until February 17th, 2023.
Beetlejuice: An American dark fantasy horror comedy media franchise that originated with the first film. The overall plot centers around a deceased couple who try to haunt the new inhabitants of their former home and call for help from a devious bio-exorcist ghost named Betelgeuse (after the star, due to being part of the constellation named after the Greek god Orion, who is famous for his hunting prowess and desire to kill every animal on earth; the name is pronounced and often spelled "Beetlejuice"), who is summoned by saying his name three times. One of the new inhabitants is a young girl, Lydia, who is dealing with her mother's death and her neglectful father.
DC: A multi-media franchise known largely from its comic book history that spans all the way from the 1930s. It created several superheroes and supervillains that would become pop culture icons, such as Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Joker, The Flash, Robin, General Zod, Brainiac, Martian Manhunter, Shazam, Black Adam, Green Lantern, and many others.
Dexter's Laboratory: An Emmy award-winning American animated television series created by Genndy Tartakovsky and produced by Cartoon Network Studios (also co-produced with Hanna-Barbera from 1996–1999). The show is about a boy named Dexter who has an enormous secret laboratory filled with an endless collection of his inventions.
Friday the 13th: An American horror franchise that comprises twelve slasher films, a television series, novels, comic books, video games, and tie‑in merchandise. The franchise mainly focuses on the fictional character Jason Voorhees, who was thought to have drowned as a boy at Camp Crystal Lake due to the negligence of the camp staff. Decades later, the lake is rumored to be "cursed" and is the setting for a series of mass murders. Jason is featured in all of the films, as either the killer or the motivation for the killings.
Game of Thrones: A fantasy drama television series produced by HBO based off of the A Song of Ice and Fire series of fantasy novels written by author George R. R. Martin. The series has been praised by both critics and audiences alike for allowing its viewers to see its world from the point of view of multiple characters and for the way it handles the theme of "good vs. evil".
Gremlins: A duology of black comedy horror movies made in collaboration between Warner Bros. and Amblin Entertainment that focus on the cute little creatures called "mogwai" and their ugly and destructive counterparts, the titular gremlins, and the chaos they bring upon the Peltzer family and their home town.
The Iron Giant: A 1999 American animated sci-fi movie based off of the 1968 novel The Iron Man, written by Ted Hughes, which also had a sequel that never got adapted into a movie, known as The Iron Woman. The movie centers around a young boy named Hogarth Hughes who discovers and befriends a giant alien robot during the Cold War. With the help of a beatnik artist named Dean McCoppin, Hogarth attempts to prevent the U.S. military and Kent Mansley, a paranoid federal agent, from finding and destroying the Giant.
Looney Tunes: An American multi-media franchise originally created by Leon Schlesinger and owned by Warner Bros. Entertainment. It started out as a series of small animated comedy short films starring various wacky characters that would soon become ageless pop culture icons such as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Elmer Fudd, Sylvester & Tweety, Yosemite Sam, Wile E. Coyote, Road Runner, Granny, Speedy Gonzales, and many others, before spawning various TV shows, spin-offs, movies, video games and reboots.
The Matrix: An American cyberpunk media franchise created by the Wachowskis and owned by Warner Bros. Entertainment that consists of of four feature films, an animated short film and multiple video games based on the films. The series is set in a cyberpunk society in which the creation of artificial intelligence led to the technological fall of humanity and the rise of a race of powerful and self-aware machines that imprisoned humans in a virtual reality system (called the Matrix) to be used for a power source. though some of the prisoners have been able to escape.
The Powerpuff Girls: An American animated television series created by animator Craig McCracken. The program was produced by Hanna-Barbera until 2001 when Cartoon Network Studios took over production. The Powerpuff Girls revolves around three kindergarten-aged girls with superpowers and their battles against evil opponents. The series is an action comedy with inspiration from American superheroes as well as Japanese Tokusatsu. The series was a launching pad for an entire media franchise including an anime, three CD albums, numerous video games, a multitude of merchandise, and a feature film. In 2016, the series also received a reboot.
Rick and Morty: An adult animated sci-fi sitcom created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon that began airing on Adult Swim in 2013. The show revolves around the misadventures of the nihilistic and cynical mad scientist Rick Sanchez and his kind-hearted but fretful grandson Morty Smith, who split their time between domestic life and interdimensional adventures.
Samurai Jack: An American animated action-adventure dystopian television series created by Genndy Tartakovsky for Cartoon Network and Adult Swim. The titular character is an unnamed Japanese samurai prince who wields a mystic katana capable of cutting through virtually anything. He sets out to free his kingdom after it is taken over by an evil, shapeshifting demon lord known as Aku. The two engage in a fierce battle, but just as the prince is about to deal the final strike, Aku sends him forward in time to a dystopian future ruled by the tyrannical demon. Adopting the name "Jack" after being addressed as such by beings in this time period, he quests to travel back to his own time and defeat Aku before he can take over the world. Jack's search for a way back to his own time period transcends Aku's control, but Jack's efforts are largely in vain due to the way back to his home ending up just out of his reach.
Scooby-Doo: Starting out as the animated television series Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! produced by Joe Ruby and Ken Spears at Hanna-Barbera in 1969, Scooby-Doo would later become a multimedia franchise producing a variety of animated television shows, as well as video games, comic books, and animated & live-action movies throughout its lifetime. The premise of the series involves around four teenagers (Shaggy, Velma, Fred, and Daphne) and their titular dog solving supposedly supernatural mysteries.
Space Jam: A duology of live action/animated-hybrid science fiction sports comedy films featuring the Looney Tunes playing basketball against hostile otherworldly forces alongside famous NBA superstars Michael Jordan and LeBron James. While its first movie started out as a spin-off of the Looney Tunes franchise, its second movie, while still keeping the spotlight on the Tunes, included references and cameos to various other WB-owned franchises such as DC, The Iron Giant, Tom and Jerry, Scooby-Doo, Rick and Morty, Gremlins, and many others, cementing the series into its own thing.
Steven Universe: A science-fantasy comedy series created by Rebecca Sugar for Cartoon Network, best known for tackling themes that were previously not addressed much in children television before. It stars the titular Steven, a young human-gem hybrid boy, who lives in the fictional town of Beach City alongside his father, Greg Universe, the Crystal Gems (Garnet, Amethyst, & Pearl), and his best friend, Connie. Most episodes of the original series focused mainly on Steven and the Crystal Gems trying to protect Earth from Corrupted Gems and The Diamond Authority.
Tom and Jerry: An American animated media franchise originally created by the legendary William Hanna and Joseph Barbera duo for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. in the 1940s. The franchise consists mostly of short animated movies centered around the rivalry between the titular cat and mouse duo. The original Tom and Jerry shorts have been described by many critics as the biggest influence for both mute and slapstick-type modern comedy.
