The Powerpuff Girls (Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup) are a trio Fighter from the The Powerpuff Girls Universe in MultiVersus. They were released with Season 3 on September 17th, 2024.
Origin[]
The Powerpuff Girls are the main protagonists of the franchise of the same name. As their show's opening narration states, Professor Utonium was attempting to mixing three ingredients; "sugar, spice, and everything nice" to create the perfect little girls. But, with an accidental addition to the concoction: Chemical X. Thus leading to the creation of The Powerpuff Girls, a trio of super-powered kindergarteners. Blossom, the smartest and most responsible leader of the three; Bubbles, who's optimistic, sweet and friendly; and Buttercup, tomboyish and the hotheaded bruiser of the three who finds fun in fighting evildoers. They use their powers to save the City of Townsville from a rouge's gallery of adversaries, such as the super-intelligent simian Mojo Jojo, and the powerful demon HIM, before bed time. The girls and their successful TV series went onto receive numerous specials, comics, video games, an anime, a reboot in 2016, and another untitled series in the works.

Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup are here to save the day! This high-flying, heavy-hitting, super-powered trio has arrived from Townsville to put all those nasty bad guys in their place. They know that sharing is caring, so they take turns being the leader and putting their own special spin on things.

PASSIVE ABILITIES
SISTER ACTThe Powerpuff Girls can swap their LEADER using down special. Different LEADERS apply unique attributes to the trio. Bubbles is fast, but her hits have less KNOCKBACK, Buttercup is slower, but her hits have more KNOCKBACK, and Blossom is balanced between the two of them. Different LEADERS also change the properties of the girls' special moves.

- The Powerpuff Girls were hinted at numerous times before their formal reveal.
- In The Joker's gameplay trailer, Send in the Clowns, the Powerpuff Girls can be seen on an icon in the top right corner of the Batcomputer.
- Octi, Bubbles' beloved octopus plushie, is amongst the numerous items that come out of the Water Tower's door in the Official "Stars Collide. Pies Fly." Launch Trailer.
- The official MultiVersus Twitter posted a picture of their characters in the waiting room from Beetlejuice, with three books on a table being the signature colors of the girls: pink, blue, green.
- They were also hinted at at the end of the Crisis in Townsville Rift, as Detective Elegant Mess says to use the Mayor's hotline to call in "some real tough cookies" to care of Mojo Jojo, which references how the mayor calls the girls whenever Townsville is in danger.
- Cathy Cavadini, Tara Strong and E. G. Daily have returned as the voices of Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup respectively after having last voiced them in the special "Dance Pantsed."
- One of Bubbles' voice lines references with Harley Quinn, due to the fact they're voiced by same actress Tara Strong.
- The Powerpuff Girls are the second fighters to be multi-in-one characters in the game, with their 3-in-1 format, following Tom and Jerry, who are the first as a 2-in-1 character.
