Stripe is a Fighter from the Gremlins Universe in MultiVersus. He was revealed on August 15th, 2022 and was released on October 12th, 2022.
Origin[]
Stripe was the main antagonist of the original Gremlins movie and the leader of The First Batch birthed from Gizmo. Stripe is far stronger, smarter and deadlier than most of his kin, arguably only matched by the Brain Gremlin from the sequel. His mischievous and sinister behavior could be seen even in his Mogwai days, such as when he snapped at Pete Fountaine's finger, and was likely the one responsible for tying up Barney in Christmas lights. His name comes from the white tuft of fur on his head.
According to the main lead writer for MultiVersus, Stripe's portrayal in the game comes from the Gremlins movie, right before his death.[1]
Official Biography[]
Keep him out of the light, he hates bright light, especially sunlight will kill him[2]
Mean. Green. Obscene.
Not everyone follows the Mogwai rules… and that’s when you get gremlins. Stripe is one of history’s most infamous “turned” Mogwai, having been the ringleader of the “Kingston Falls Christmas Terror” in 1984. Plucked from the timeline shortly before his defeat at the hands of his “father” Gizmo; this harbinger of chaos, lover of destruction, and maker of mayhem should fit in quite nicely here… if he doesn’t blow himself up first.[3]
Default Variant[]
Stripe's default look is based on his appearance in the first Gremlins movie.
