Game of Thrones is a fantasy drama television series produced by HBO based off of the A Song of Ice and Fire series of fantasy novels by author George R. R. Martin. It is notable for being HBO's most recognizable and beloved series, garnering various video games and comic books, as well as a prequel series titled House of the Dragon.
While the later seasons of the show were heavily criticized by both critics and longtime fans alike, the series has nonetheless gained a special place in pop culture, as well as a very big and dedicated fanbase. The series has also been praised by many for allowing its audience to see different characters from their point of view, unlike other fantasy series, and for the way it handles the theme of "good vs. evil".
